Hey, anyone know the secret to getting off the plastic interior panel on the rear door of a 98 3rd gen?
The lock switch mount is loose in mine and I need to access it. TIA, <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Edy

Roll Me Over
Take the strap off (10mm bolt i believe)
then pull the panel off.
Can your door open or not? my problem was i couldnt open the door, so i had to peel the inner weatherstrip off and pull the panel off from the top. If you can open the door, start prying from the bottom of the door and get the panel off.

Easy job...

Thanks, I finally paid my ten bucks and went to the Toyota tech site. Apparently, it's just regular panel attachment like door panels. Just didn't want to tear anything up. I can open the door but the lock-switch in the door is loose. Sometimes turning the key doesn't unlock the door because the lock itself is moving some.

It`s not loose. It`s mount is partially cracked off. Mine did the same thing, i epoxied it back in but it only lasted a few months. I need to buy the whole plastic license plate surround now (and you probably will need to as well).

Good luck,
Greg

(ps i used the remote to lower the window and inside to raise it if necessary)

Thanks, Greg. Still haven't gotten to it but really appreciate the insight. Had another fire to put out. Ran 35' of ABS under the house yesterday to fix a bad drain. Fun.
