forever, if you do the basic maintenance, apparently...

<---- proof...

lol.... seriously though, the 3vz-e engine will last you a loooooong time. maintain it and it will be happy.

what kind of stuff is wrong with it.

as for the welded rear, i take it, that the thing will be a full time off road vehicle?

otherwise, driving in the streets will be painful. and scary especially if you overturn in the wet roads.

x2 on the 3VZ. mine has been goin strong for 272,000 miles, and since 235,000, that has been with a teenage driver. im rebuilding it in my next semester of school, but i dont think it absolutly needs it. id just like it to last longer...

If the right gaskets were used (OEM) and the deck and head were checked for flatness it will last a long time. My HG's were done in 98 and it is still going strong.

For S & G's do a search on blown HG's and count how many 22r's there are compared to the 3.0's. 22r's in my opinion have a HG problem also.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
I don't mean to take over the thread, but what about OEM HG's? My new head came with an aftermarket gasket set. It's not in front of me but it was maybe Fel-Pro? Is there something wrong with the HG that came with the set? Tnx.
