Getting the Wheeling Fever
I need to replace the seals and bearings in the front end of my 91. ive seen the rebuild kit but how hard is it to do? i work in a small garage and have dealt with u joints and ball joints and stuff. but never done a kingpin style set-up. ive done the rear seals and that wasnt too bad. just wonderiung about the front because the wheel bearings are starting to get a little bit loose. also the birfield seals are leaking and i have already replaced one by cutting a slit in it and placing the slit on top. worked for a little while and then eventually gave out.

Using the rebuild kits, you can do it with hand tools in about 2 hours, maybe less. Have plenty of rags on hand and be ready to get messy. But it is very 'doable'. The hardest part is usually tapping out the kingpin bearing races, but you can do it with a hammer, a drift (or old flat tip screwdriver) and a little patience.

would this have anything to do with my sammy steering hard. obviously i realize it will steer hard without powersteering but it has recently gotten worse. seems like the sammy loves to go straight but when turning at the start of the turn there is a hard spot and then it lets off and steers real easy into the rest of the turning of the steering wheel. like a bind almost.

Actually, that sounds more like low air pressure.
