Need a Spot
Hello all. I may be getting a 3.1 from jarco. It comes with everything, but it is from a right hand drive vehicle. Does anyone know if the stuff ie clutch peddle and master will work in a Left hand drive vehicle. Thanks in advance.

Harold

Take a look at Adrian's site: www.dieseltrooper.blogspot.com

It sounds like you'll need to do a little to get the clutch hydraulics straightened out, but not much. Other than that you should be fine. I'm working with a 3.1 with Auto trans from a RHD that I'm putting in a LHD trooper. No real LHD/RHD issues that I've seen other than having to move the brake lines out of the way of the exhaust.

Keep us posted on how it goes. Read through my conversion post to see some of the issues I've run into. Hopefully you'll have less issues with the manual transmission.

Let me also add that I highly recommend that you transplant the motor into a like series vehicle. Most of my issues have stemmed from my fitting a '94 motor (let's call that series 2) into a '91 trooper (Series 1). If I had only used a '92 or later trooper, I could have used the motor mounts that came with the motor, the stock transmission crosmember mounting point, radiator that came with the motor, etc.

You'll save yourself a lot of headaches matching the two.

I've considered hauling my trooper to the junk yard and starting over with a '92, but I'm too far in to go back in my mind. hind sight...

Hope that helps.

Paul
