We call them strip-pers here in the left coast.

That's a big one...how many pounds? My best to date is 32 lbs taken from San Luis Reservoir.

Nice Striper.

Les, I've got to bring my family down to the aquarium sometime. I have not been there since the early 90s. I've been stung a few times by various species over the years. It always sucks.

Les could hold up a sign saying "hello 'your kid's name'"...wouldn't that trip them out?

I don't need a sign, I'm wearing a full face mask with live mic so I'll just yell at them !

Man, I was wondering how a rockfish could do that, then I saw the link to that little doinker fish and realized that ain't no rockfish.

THIS is a Rockfish and if one swam up to me he'd be on the grill in no time.

I am with Joe, Rockfish is some good eating, especially on the grill! On that link for that little orange fish, where are the recipes to grill and fix it up real nice?
I need to hit the Chesapeake bay in the fall , late December. That's when the striped bass (Rockfish) are running and you can catch 36 pounders and up. Limit 2 per person, at that rate I can eat Rockfish for couple of weeks! (the wife doesn't like fish, so I get it all to myself)

The Monterey Bay Aquarium has seafood in the cafeteria.

We do have a guide that helps you pick fish that are in good supply

Stay away from farm raised fish!
