Sold my 2000 Taco back to Toyota for $20700. Took that money and bought a 2005 Taco with the 4.0 and love it.

For those who still have frames that are in nice shape, I see Trail Gear has come up with some frame gusseting kits. http://www.trail-gear.com/tacomaI might consider this, given I'm working on making the Taiga Taco a dedicated camper rig.

I still need to plate my rear frame. The front is beefed up from the axle swap. Like you said, a very good idea for a camper rig.
