2001 Sportage 4dr. Drivers window let go and slowly dropped into the door panel. I took the motor out and found that one of the cables leading from the motor to the regluator has snapped. Can you get just the cable to replace?...or does it only come with a motor purchase,,,regulator purchase? Any suggestions on installation?

My driver side window did the same thing. I removed the door panel and manually propped the window up against the inner metal window frame; with (dollar store) school erasers until I ordered the proper part. The correct part is the motor (connectors included). The erasors will hold the glass window up really secure.

I think that is was in the neighborhood of $80.00 (proper part) of course.

Use the erasor method until proper parts are rec'd!

1)disconnect batt
2)remove door panel
3)dis-assemble motor & wire connectors
4)slide the glass part out and unscrew needed area then remove carefully (better 2 people)
5)Put glass back and re-install
6)Hook batt back up

FYI: I burnt a fuse and replaced it for like $2.90(I think it was the one under the hood)?

The benefit is I got my non-working rear electric windows to work!!!!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I may have jiggled the wires or something. You may try to splice the wires to save money and all.....But the motor can go out like mine at about 140,000 miles.............

Hope it helps you!

While I was at a car wash I grabbed a kid who was detailing his car and asked him for help in guiding the window out/in
