Well, so its been something a bit under a year now since I got my first Raider and joined the forum for help. Thus far I've done a decent amount of body work, new Weber carb, rebuilt fuel tank, fabbed bumpers, radio rewired(all of it was gone), speakers, C/B, A/F meter, blah, blah, blah....
Up next: Tires (should arrive Wed), roof rack w/ a lights

Anyways here's some pictures of my progress. I'll post a couple before since no one probably remembers.

The snow, salt, and crap certainly don't help the cause, but I'll have more once I get the new tires on and rack finished!!

Quite a improvment! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I have mine for a couple of months now and will be very happy if I can make such improvments in one year.

It was a ton of work and the before photos really don't give me any justice of how much time I spent working on this thing. The front fenders were shot and the rear passenger corner was rotten Everything was cut out, new metal welded in, and viola!
Only problem is I'm going to work on getting the carb perfectly tuned this upcoming weekend and if I don't start seeing an improvement I may toy w/ the idea of selling. It's just not a practical vehicle, which is not why I bought it, I uderstand its a toy. However being in grad school, I'm within a yr of graduating and own 4 vehicles. This unfortunately may be the one that gets the boot by the fiance.

Nice job...always good to see a Raider brought back. Funny, I've owned three black ones but have always wanted one of those Maui blue ones.

If it's not practical enough, buy a four-door:).

1987-2000: '87 black Raider stock 4-cyl/5-speed.
2000-2006: '89 black Raider stock 6-cyl/auto
2007-?: 89 black Raider, 6-cyl/auto w/(at last!), bouncy seat, power windows and cruise.

I'll have to post a couple pictures sometime, but I recently got rid of the junk tires on her. They were lot rotten and ready to go the whole time I've been driving. Anyways, I picked up a set of Lee Wintermarks off ebay for $280 shipped. Pretty aggresive tire and not loud going down the road. I even got to test them out after putting them on when my dad tried baiting me into getting stuck driving around in some of our property through snow drifts. Needless to say he was "impressed that the little ***** could go through them".

Looks like some hard-working hours went into making it shine <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> I definitely want to see pics with the new tires and the roof rack <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

wow!...awesome looking ride!...i liked the original blue but there is no denying that the black paint gives the raider a mean look! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

The blue was really nice, but I went w/ the rust style paint (KBS). Its the same thing as Por15 and 'inhibits' rust.
