ok, I had done a post about engine swaps b4.. but I had another question.. I was told a toyota supra's motor would fit in with my current drive train. I was also told that those engines cost a lot of money.. Is there any other 6 cylinder motors that would fit in there with little or no alteration???.. what about the inline 6 from a toyota land cruiser?? my mom has a '97 land cruiser and that motor runs smooth as ever.. I was either thinking about doing this or doing the v6 chevy conversion.. I want to stay with toyota if possible. thanks in advance, Anthony

Well depends on if you have a 22re or 3vze. If you have the v6 that a tacoma 3.4 would bolt in to that tranny and motor mounts, you just have to do the exhaust, wiring, and other odds and ends.
Also really deoends on the supra motor that you want to put in there. A 7mge or 6mge non turbo(which in my opinon is what you want unless it is a total street queen) from older supras are not that expensive now adays, and all you need there is the bell housing off the supra tranny and it should bolt up to the tranny in your truck. I know that the clutch from the supra(you want that too) has the slave cylinder on the opposite side, and of course there is all the other stuff that you have to do for a motor swap.
Then there is always the 4.3 vortec(well vortec prefered), and then the small block v8.... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/evil.gif" alt="" />
Just start calling junk yards, hitting up craigs list and researching through here and pirate 4x4, there are a ton of swap write ups out there and just find what will suit your needs, budget, and skill.
92' Pick-up, SAS, gears to make her crawl, 37's , bullet proof motor, and alot of time invested. 06 CRF450R one mean roost flinging machine

Go to our Toyota Tech Archive and open the window to 'view all'. 4RunRick did a 7Mgte swap. At the end of the post, I put his updated links; you'll also see his feedback on his efforts.
