Getting the Wheeling Fever
I've never had this problem with these motors and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.

yesterday sucked bad i was up in moab on hells revenge and it was running a little rich when i got there and it got a little worse as i went blowing black exhaust and missing bad. I'd have to rev it to clear it out so i could make it up the steep parts without stalling! Any ideas? Thanks

Is your setup stock? I'd check for leaks in the exhaust just before the 02 sensor, or just unplug it and see what happens.

A few typical causes:
1) Sticking AFM.
2) 02 sensor issues
3) ECU temp sensor disconnected or damaged.. Check at the ECU (see FSM) - I'd start here.

I just had this same type of problem. Mine ended up being the broken spring in the air flow meter. If your ohm reading at full shut is high, try to push the flapper open some and if there is no resistance and it doesn't snap shut... broken spring...
