been a long time. My runner has been dormant for a while but I finally got it back on the road again. I took it light wheeling to see if all the bugs were worked out. it was great but found new problems to fix. i'm starting to wonder if I should find another project truck to work on and swap what i have into another truck. The biggest problem is the drivers side frame rail has major rust holes - start about where the frame curves up in the rear wheelwell, inside and outside of the frame rail. When I got back from wheeling, i checked the rear shocks and the driver's side (brand new) rear shock had ripped out the top frame mount and bent the threads for the shock. The rear end is very loose. My question is can I relocate the rear top shock mounts. I looked breifly but it looks like the panhard rod and mounts would get in the way. does anyone have any other advice.
i would love to contnue to drive this truck but don't have the time for a body off restoration. the passenger side frame rail is solid, just the driver side rear is shot, but its shot pretty good. cheers sid

i could do something like that but i need good metal to weld to. i'm afraid there is hardly any good metal back there on that side.
has anyone cut out 1/4 of a frame rail and welded a new peice on. sounds like alot of work and i dont have the skills, welders, grinders, etc., just wondering what my options are.
anyone know someone in central VA willing to help a friend out.
