I'm trying to install a/c on 1981 toyota. Any parts or advice before I reinstall mtr. & trans

Look at the lower front right part of your block and make sure you even have the holes drilled/threaded in the block to mount the compressor bracket. If you DON'T have 'em, you may need to rethink this, or go visit a machine shop and get it set up.

Go to the FSM sticky at the top of this section and look at either the '85 zip file or the '93 FSM to see what all components you need, along with R&R.

For the carb, you'll need the vacuum advance valve if there's not already one on your carb (but assuming original). Hardest thing to find will be the 3rd pulley you'll need for the belt.

Note, there are at least 2-3 different brackets for different compressor styles that get mounted passenger side front.. Took me a couple of tries to get it right on my 22RE. I've got 2 spares, if you want 'em...
