Getting the Wheeling Fever
I installed an AMC head recently and after a couple hundred miles took out the plugs to put in some higher end ones and noticed all four plugs were gunked up. so i checked the oil and noticed it was loosing a lot, where it had never before. Just curious if anyone else has had problems with these heads or if maybe something was done wrong on the install? mostly if there is anything i can do to fix it.
thanks

I've had an AMC head on my 2.6 Trooper for maybe two years now. I have had absolutely no issues with it. I should have put it on long ago.

I think your problem lies with the install, some error, or perhaps is a totally separate problem, nothing to do with the AMC head or the installation. Start by looking at the gunk. What kind of gunk is it?

it is black and moist looking, i just assumed it was burnt oil. it is using about a quart every 300 mi.
From what i know either all four rings went bad when the new head was put in or the head came with bad seals, but i am no expert for sure. I am hoping its just something to do with the install, but of course it probably isn't
