i dont think its a`'99 either but mitsu did make that body style in small numbers after they switched to the blister fender models, they came with the 24 valve 3.0. It might be a '99

no way Mitsu here in the US would let that body sytle continue, esspecailly after a full year after supposibly changing it in 98. I can see it "maybe-possibily-but-not-really" in 98, but in 99 here in the US. doubt it Nah, looked at it again, its older <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/drunk.gif" alt="" />

I'm pretty sure that Montero is a LS which dates it to at least 1997..

This bodystyle was manufactured concurrently with blister fender style. That why when ordering snork from TJM you wonted to be sure of the model. US mainland never officially received those but I believe they were sold in Puerto Rico. They are certified to meet US Federal Emission standards thus perfectly legal to bring to mainland. I'm sure some of them never actually reached Puerto Rico and were sold here. Just like my Gen 3 LS which never existed in official model lineup but in reality never left mainland either. Of course this particular truck may have nothing to do with this. None the less I see those Puerto Rico Monteros pop up on eBay every now and then. Too bad they didn't get any diesels.
