Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have a problem with my truck and I'm wondering if anyone has experienced something similar or perhaps someone knows what the issue might be. In the morning or after the truck has rested, my rear brakes want to lock up. It seems to happen in all kinds of weather and will happen whether or not I use the handbrake. It appears to be only the right rear, but I'm not entirely sure. Several days ago the wheels remained locked even though I had taken my foot off of the brake. I attempted to pull away from the stop when I realized the truck wouldn't move. I applied the accelerator and heard something break free.

I plan on taking the rear wheels off this weekend to investigate.

Sounds like some of yer brake components have some rust or build up on them. Yer wheel cylinder and springs are probably in need of a rebuild. Price out yer parts and git them ready. Don't fergit to purge the old stuff out and put new fluid in yer system. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

"BZP" is probably correct. I had the same symptoms, a long time ago. I had done some water crossings (1-2 foot)and got some water in the axle tube. The water in there would freeze something at night. In the morning I would have to put in gear and gas it to bust it loose. It worried me at first, till I figured out what it was. I drained the chunk, refilled and the problem was gone.

I have the same issue, came to the conclusion I need to replace the inner works of the drums as I already replaced everything else.

After theyheat it up it goes away right?

my old man was telling me about this one time and wheel cylinder springs could be the cause like the guy above said.
