Need a Spot

I have an 85 4runner I'm about to buy with a bad motor and have a complete 86 turbo motor available to me as well. Question is, 85 didn't offer a turbo motor so when I take it in for a smog check, will they send me to referee since its a non-stock motor? Fresno County, California by the way

Any sound info is greatly appreciated
