I started taking Big Jim's advice and checking craigs list here on the western slope. I picked up a set of 2 1/2 inch rancho springs (lightly used 1 year) for 60 bucks. Just need some shocks. Any reccomendations?

I like Rancho's as well. I run the 5000's, and my buddy runs the RSX's.

I just put an Old Man Emu lift in my JK and those stock heavy duty shocks (factory HD suspension option) sure look like the lifted shocks that I put in my XJ. Bar pins and lowers look the same to me. I'd be glad to measure the compressed and extended length if you want em.

Seattle:
My CJ is the old type with the really short shock mounts.
I know my 86' had the longer upper shock mounts but the 80 they are right next to the frame. I am thinking about going with modded shock towers as i anticipate an axle swap in the future. I finally am getting financially secure enough to work on my jeep, instead of just keeping it running so this is a bit exciting.
Thanks for the offer though.
