So the problems started in the beginning of february when I got stuck in the mud. I cleared the water out of the engine, but other things started to go wrong. The jeep would not idle, and it would cut out at high speeds. I had to change the tps, and spark plugs, and got that taken care of. Now it still runs kind of wierd.within a few minutes after I start the engine, every time I run the car, it will act sluggish, and the throttle will be really un responsive while starting to accelerate, or cut out during acceleration. that will go away within 5 minutes, but when the jeep idles for any length of time, it will act strange. The rpms will sometimes jump up, or drop down, almost to the point of dying, and the car will sound funny, and smell really bad. I changed the ignition coil last night, and it didnt help at all.

any ideas?

If you have a ox sensor in the exhaust I'd be looking there.

So, it seems to me you might have the same problem as me. I didn't go mudd'in though. Mine started acting up after a long drive. Read my post "1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Rough Idle and No Power PLEASE HELP" It will at least tell you what not to change. If you fix that issue definately let me know what magic you used on it. I will return the favor.

My dads friend did an in depth scan on it, and the front O2 sensor was malfunctioning. It was telling the computer that the engine was running too lean, so the computer would richen the mix, then the engine would end up running way too rich. I just bought a new O2 sensor. I will let you know how it turns out once I install it.

Well, from what i can tell from driving it around last night, and today, the new front O2 sensor did the trick.
