I have a noise that my 2.6 is making that sounds like a little squeek/squeel. The best I can describe it, it sounds just like a old VW Beetle, you know that little whisle/squeek that comes from the exhaust. I can hear it at the header and I can hear it al the way back at the tail pipe. I have adjusted the rockers thinking it might have something to do with it but even though they were way out, it did not fix my problem. Any sugestions?

Thanks, Chad

Body Damage is Cool
You don't mention when you hear this noise. Is it anytime the motor is running? Under acceleration?, Braking?

It could be a broken weld, broken motor mount or anything that is causing a metal on metal "squeak". Check your exhaust hangers, spring hangers. I had a broken weld on a rear spring hanger that took me a while to figure out. Just caused an annoying squeak. Until I saw the rust, I couldn't find it.

It happens all the time. More so when it the engine is cold. The noise is deffinately internal. It increases slightly when accelerating and then tapers off at certain RPMs. I am almost convinced it is just the normal sound of the engine since it is very unrestricted in breathing. Plus It runs perfect, has plenty of power and runs smooth
