97 and 98 are the only years that will can be easily fitted with the factory supercharger because of the differences in the computers, if you have a mind to go in that direction.

If I had to replace mine today I would be looking at the '96 - '98 models.

And most importantly, I would scour the 'net and classifieds for one with bucket seats. The T100 bucket seats are the most comfortable truck seats I have ever sat in, bar none.

If you think you're going to want a truck topper, I would try to find a truck that already has one as I hear T100 toppers are tough to come by.

I am going to have to agree with you creeper that the seats are mighty comfortable. I have a 96 with 250,000 miles and a newer motor out of a 4runner. truck runs fine. just have small things i still have to fix from the previous owner.

I know where one is with bucket seats AND a shell and it's for sale. Right in my garage. See other link.

All I know is the bench seats suck. Mine has almost 200k and I need a pad to sit in it or my back aches. Even then it still bothers me after along drive.

Looking to sooner or later find some kinda seats that fit, perhaps from a hatch ford focus since they have the slider.

I have had 2 93T's. One 2wd, one 4. Both are great trucks. 3.0 v-6's, auto's. The 4x4 sr-5 far surpasses the DX 2wd. Both were/are at 165K. The one beauty of the 95 and earlier, at least in NY, is that the emissions testing requirement is mot an issue for 95 or earlier. You may wish to check out this issue prior to purchase. The 3.0 motors are dogs, but they never break. Especially for us old guys. I am nearly 62 and do not need speed like I used to. Hope this helps in you decision making. Personally, the only reason I have the 4by is a local drunk totaled the 2wd. Best thing that ever happened to me. Now I have a really nice 4by and the cost was minimal after insurance....Good luck. Keep us posted. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />

I have a 1998 T100 SR5 that I bought in 2001 when it had 26,000 miles on it. It's a 4WD, automatic transmission, 3.4L, with 80,800 miles. The engine has been flawless and has only experienced regular maintenance like spark plugs and oil changes.

There have been 2 problems that Toyota fixed free--the steering idler arm and sticking seat belts.

It took awhile to find a tool box that would fit the width of the truck bed and the placement of the humps from the wheel wells, but United Welding Service out of Florida had a nice one.

I did hear some louder engine noise and found some holes in the muffler this week, but the truck is 10 years old. I get 18 mpg in town and 20-22 on the highway. The fit and finish of the truck is excellent, and I plan to keep it for another 10 years.

I have a 1998 SR5 Ext cab Auto 4X4 I have been kicking it around about selling it due to lack of power with the 3.4 engine. The truck is in very good cond inside and out runs super just underpowered for me.I hauled a small trailer of firewood and it underpowered in my opinion. Might sell if interested I live in PA
