As stated above. The Runner is an early 85 with a 22RE and the donnor gauges are from an 86 turbo truck. I know there are some changes to be made like the oil pressure sender but thats all I know.
It's probably wishfull thinking but does everything else just plug in?
Any help would be great. Thanks, Dan

I did this in my 92 and all I had to do was put in the other oil pressure sensor. Everything just plugged right in and it all works. I'm not sure it this helps much but just make sure you have the oil pressure sensor hooked up first.

You may not have the wire from the ignitor to the tach. I had to run one in my 85 pu. I went to the junk yard and got a similar toyota electrical connector and pulled a pin, then attached the pin to my new to-be-installed tach wire. The pin then was inserted in the correct pin location of the instrument cluster connector, pin location found in the wiring diagrams. (If you need it I can get it for you later) I ran the wire out of the firewall down the inside left fender and finally routed it to the - terminal of ignitor. This and the oil sender is all I had to do to put a tach cluster into a non tach cluster 85.

Thanks for the info all. I'll take a look at the conector and compare it to the donnor trucks harness tomorow. I'll let you know how it goes.

you dont need a connector for the tach, just hook to the white wire. They are many write ups on the net about this.
do not turn the key on without swaping the oil sensor, it will fry the gauge.
