Getting the Wheeling Fever
I rebuilt my 22re from the ground up and the only thing I regret not taking the time to replace was the rod bolts. should I be worried or is it a rare accurance that one fails?

the bolts holding the rod bearing caps on.... I sure wouldn't worry about them. As long as they were torqued to spec they should be fine.

Body Damage is Cool
Clean and re-use.
I did 10K miles ago on my rebuild. (46 Ft/Lb's), no issues thus far.

I know of several rebuilts with reused rod bolts and no problems. Unless they were subjected to high forces, (overtightening included), they should be fine.

>>>*I would guess I have had a few hundred of those, maybe more in my hands.

We look them over, reuse them and if they pull to specs they are fine.

Failure rate is zero to date. *Not to worry....*EB
