ok, so i had a previous problem where whenever i would turn on a sharp corner i would get this horiible popping noise from the front driver side. it sounded like it came from hell, it was really bad!! so i checked it out and i noticed the front links where missing the bushingss (washers)wtf!!!! ok so i installed everything new on the links front left and front right and the popping sound went away! BUT now i have this horrendous squealing and chirping noise when i take off coming from the front driver side. It acts up when taking off and at times when accelarating to high speeds. arghhh, i greased it up (front driver side) to see if it would help and nothing. can it be that i tightened the screws to much and now theyre scraping. any help is most appreciated

Body Damage is Cool
Did you use polyurethane bushings? If so, did you lubricate them properly when installing them?

well i lubricated the bushings after i installed them, and i do not know if theyre polyurethane, seemed like tough rubber.

what do u mean by exceeding the torque spec, im sorry but some times i have no clue whats being said

oh ok bolts to tight. thats exactly what im thinking because when i was installing them i was tightening them forever and my mechanic said hey hey, thats enough thats enough, so it just might be that! ill check and repost, might be in a couple of days, cuz right now im dealing with welding the frame of my seats since they broke off and etc

thanks big jim!!

Yeah essentially, I was asking if you tightened the bolts/ nuts too much. If you look up in your service manual there should be a Torque Specified for every nut and bolt on the vehicle. Some are called out specifically, because they are not a "standard torqueö or are a more critical location, ie in the engine, transmission, axles, etc, and if you don't see a specific torque listed for your location, then there will be a table that lists "Standard Torque" values for bolts/ nuts based on bolt size, material, and grade. This also requires you use a torque wrench to verify the installed torque, and so you know you are not over torquing the fastener. For most applications, most people (myself included) will just use a ôCalibrated Handö and a normal wrench. This isnÆt the best way because obviously you donÆt know what the actual torque you are applying, but it does work if you have enough practical experience.

In the industry I am in, our mechanics will also use angle of turn after contact of the bolt head is made with the mating surface, this is an approved and accepted practice, but again, isnÆt as accurate as just putting a torque wrench on the fastener. But then I am an engineer, so I see more of the picture than the mechanics do as to why we have the torque specs we do, but at the same time, when I go home and turn a wrench, I donÆt get out a torque wrench unless itÆs a critical in my ôexpertö (LOL) opinion.

Auto or manu?

With "Silver ('06 x)" she chirp'd and it was the manu trans.
The dealer redid the clutch and she works great now.
