Need a Spot
I have a 2000 sportage 4 door. The problem is the rear power windows do not work from front or rear, the front windows work fine. Is there a seprate fuse for the back or could the master switch on driver door gone bad?
What else could be wrong? Any help would be appericiated.

It can be either switch or a wire in between.

But..if it happened at same time for both rear windows and they would not work neither from front or rear switch, that is rather puzzling.....the only possibility to explain that being a cut on the ground link within the main switch between 2nd and 3rd switch on diagram....
....will the right side window work from the right side door switch ?
...if it was a problem with the KILL switch, they would still work from the main switch..and the right front would not work from the door either.
...I would open a door and check for motor operation with direct 12V and ground feeds....

The front passenger side window works fine just the rear doors are dead. I'll try a different main switch to see if that fixes the problem. Thanks Lesj.

I pulled the rear door panels off to check if power window are getting power and found there is power to the plug for the motor. Can anyone tell me how to check the motor to see if it has an open circut ? One wire makes the window go up the other makes it go down, it seems to have ground. I checked to see if there was any contunity but my meter shows an open circut. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

What the diagram says is if you activate the switch to UP, then 12V is applied to RED and GREEN is connected to grou nd by the other side of the switch.
if you activate the DOWN switch , then 12V is applied to GREEN and RED is connected to ground by the other side of the switch.
So disconnect the motor and then you can use an ohmmeter to test the motor itself. Best would be to run 12V and GROUND to RED and GREEN motor wires, and reverse, to see if motor operates.
