Where is the "Warm Up Relay" for a/c located and what does it look like? #882109 04/21/08 09:07 PM

Need a Spot
I'm trying to find the warm up relay for the a/c. I've installed an a/c in my 84 4x4 (from 86 4x2), it's charged and works (compressor wire hot wired), but it doesn't cycles. The compressor wire comes from the warm up relay from the amplifier.

I've got two different wiring diagrams and both are different.

For future information, The a/c system I installed was out of a 86 2wd and I installed it into a 84 4wd w/ towing package. The main plug is different. The main plug is located just below the windshield on top of the evaporator, 4" out of the main harness.

The 86 2wd has a 4 wire plug, coil, compressor wire, and two wires for the VSV.

The 84 4wd towing package has a six wire plug, coil, compressor, two for VSV, thermal switch, and warm up relay wire.

I had to run a couple of wires to hookup the coil, compressor, and two VSV for the four wire plug into the six wire plug. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
