Need a Spot
I'm rubbing pretty bad on turns using 15x8 steel wheels. I was wondering what 30x9.50's looked like on the factory aluminum 5 spoke 15's. And what is the width of the factory wheels? 7"?

Thanks in advance guys smile

Body Damage is Cool
I ran 30x950s on my factory wheels with no problems. I had the 2 1/2" Eibachs at the time.

The stock wheels are 15 x 6 with 4" and some change backspacing. They will handle 31x10.50x15 tires with no problem.

I'm running that tire size right now and have had those tires on since I put on the Eibach lift. I've now traded just the rear coils out for Stock TJ coils because the Eibach rear coils started to sag and they are no longer manufactured so you can't warranty them.

With this wide of a tire you'll end up using quite a bit of wheel weights to balance the tires, and they will never stay balanced because of the much wider tire width over the rim width.

Stock height Sportages with stock wheels can fit a 235 with no problems, but you might get some rubbing when fully articulating the suspension.

I too ran 30x9.5 tires on the stock rim, then later, 31x10.5 and both worked fine.

However, there was a little bit of side-to-side wobble added when I went to the 31x10.5 tire. It was only noticeable taking turns on the highway or something, and it didn't cause any problems. Just felt a little different.

I drove it that way for a couple years no problem.
