Couldn't find a post, so I'll ask...

How in the ___ do you get the bottom allen head bolt on the driver's side valve cover out with the frappin' brake booster in the way? I've scratched a bald spot on my head trying to figure this out. I haven't even started the job, and I'm ready to toss a grenade in there.

I'd really, really like to not have to take the booster off to do this. Could someone please share some wisdom?

Somewhere, there's an Isuzu engineer laughing at my sorry butt.

HI JOHN, SORRY BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO GET THE BOLTS OUT , HERE IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO , REMOVE THE VACC BOOSTER VAC LINE FROM THE BOOSTER AND RELEASE THE VACC ON THE BOOSTER CAN, THIS IS A MUST DO, ,NOW REMOVE THE MASTER CYL BOTS AND PULL THE M/C FORWARD ENOUGH TO CLEAR THE BOOSTER , THEN UNDER THE DASH REMOVE THE PUSH ROD PIN AND LINK , THEN 4 BOLTS , USE A 12 SWIVEL SOCKET AND YOU CAN GET RIGHT IN THERE IT ISNT AS BAD AS IT LOOKS, YOU CNA GET IT OUT IN ABOUT 5-10 AT MOST , BUT WHAT EVER YOU DO ,DO NOT TRY AND REMOVE THE MASTER CYL WITH THE VACC STILL ON THE BOOSTER AS IT WILL HOLD THE PISTON IN THE MASTER CYL AND PULL IT RIGHT OUT OF THE BORE AND NOW YOU HAVE A MESS .. Thanks, Jerry.

I've had the intake manifold off for a while, with the vacuum line to the booster already disconnected. Would it be safe to say that the vacuum has been released from the booster?

MOST LIKELY THE VAC HAS GONE OR EQUALIZED BY NOW , BUT TOO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE JUST PUMP THE BRAKES A FEW TIMES WITH THE ENG OFF AND IT WILL TAKE CARE OF THE VACC STORED IN THE DOME ,, JERRY
