Getting the Wheeling Fever
So my 2006 Rubi's mufler is already rotted out. Only 15K miles. Anybody know if this should be covered by warrenty? Any advice on just doing an upgrade with maybe a Magnaflo or something better than stock? Would it get me any more power of fuel mileage?

Adding an aftrer market muffler such as the magnaflow you named will increase the NOISE both inside and outside the Jeep! Adding that muffler will NOT increase either performance or milage.. My advice is to take that sicko back to a genuine Jeep dealer. The muffler should be at least PART of the smog devices and hence under warranty.

Body Damage is Cool
BJ is right, the after market exausts do nothing for peformance unless you have gobs of power and use it.the only aftermarket exausts that do what they are supposed to is the replacement ones not the so called upgrades.
Yes your muffler is covered by the warrenty, for 75k in fact. the entire emissions system is due to the govt. stepping in and making the car companies do it.

out of all the jeeps in this town the d**n gremlin had to invade mine

I've done so much, with so little for so long i can practicly do anything with nothing

Good advice about the noise, don't want that. If an increase in power or fuel economy (which they all claim) is not noticeable then whatÆs the point. I love my Rubicon but the quality is disappointing. Less than 2 years old, already had the fuel pump die, now the front end is going out. As I was underneath it looking to see if I could see what's wearing out causing the "Death Wobble" I noticed water dripping from the front of the muffler. I was wondering if it would even be covered and was considering a Stainless Steel replacement. I guess Jeep can do it for me every 15K miles until itÆs out of warranty. If thatÆs good for 75K miles I guess thatÆs approx. 5 mufflers.

DW condensation is SUPPOSED to drip out of the muffler...that's why the thing has that DRIP hole in the bottom of it. When up to temp the condensation stops.
All is normal with muffler/tail pipe drips during warm-up.

BJ, the condensation and the muffler. Difference in temp- produces condensation. Just agreeing.
There's no reason for putting up defence. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
