Need a Spot
I installed a 3" Lift From Independent4X on my 93 Trooper this weekend with no Complications other than a few slightly stubborn nuts and bolts. I have no problems with my front end alignment that a good shop can't remedy.
I have looked for the slightest mention of this and it seems that everyone knows something that I don't since apparently it hasn't been discussed in the last few years.

What do I do about the trackbar? Are there longer ones available that I cant find? Are there drop brackets for the frame side, or lift brackets for the axle side? Do I just pull it off and hope the tri-link will hold it mostly square (Thats seems like a dumb idea to me)?
***Edit***I have found longer, heavier duty trackbars for 98+ Amigo/Rodeo Sport***

If it was only a 1 1/2" lift then it wouldn't be a problem, but my rear end is about an inch over to the left and that is causing it to track really weird, like a dog that just cant get its hind quarters to follow the front....

Oh yeah I was on here a long time ago as another name... but couldn't remember it at all.

Yeah, the axle will shift a little left. I've got about 3.25" lift and the axle is offset similar to yours, but I haven't noticed any dogtracking per se...the important thing is that the axle is perpendicular to the frame.

I think Calmini's lift kit came with a track bar drop bracket, not sure if they still offer it or not. A longer bar would be an option, too.

You could talk to Matt at Indy4x, he is always looking for new product ideas, and at the very least he could easily make an adjustable link bar for you.

BTW don't remove the track bar! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" /> There is very little else stabilizing the axle left/right.

Thx
Yeah, it really never seriously crossed my mind to remove it. I actually found an archives post on Planetisuzu by Bigpoppax2. He built a weld on riser for it so as not to lose any clearance. He also had some other Great ideas that he has implemented.

I was talking to the guys at takeitoff-road.com there is a guy in town here that loves any sort of fab challenge, think I will see what he can suggest too.

I have started posting some pics of the lift for those that are curious.

Here is where to find my Troops.
