hey there, just out of curiosity- has anyone with a 2.5 intercooler cut their hood or swapped their hood/bonnet for a later model hood scoop? i was thinking of cutting my hood and putting an aftermarket hood scoop to feed in more air into the intercooler thus keeping it cooler. has anyone done this? any pros and cons would be great..

You'd be better off fitting a larger front mount intercooler.

im pretty sure the hood scoop for the 4M40 is in the wrong position for our intercooler...they look a bit different with my eye. the factory ducting in the hood seems to flow air pretty good along with the fan mounted on the bottom of the intercooler. after a highway drive, get out and pop the hood and feel the 2 intercooler hoses...you will notice a HUGE difference in the temperature of the hoses. so that tells you right there that it is working!!!
