Getting the Wheeling Fever
i have an 88 pickup 4x4 with the 22re. its efi. how do i set the fuel mixture correctly? oh and can i seperate the trans from the tranny without dropping them both?

If you mean T-case from tranny, yes as long as it is a stick shift. Some of the automatic trannys, no.

Support engine

Remove shifter

Disconnect all wires and cables to T-case

Remove X-member

Remove bolts holding T-case to Tranny

Remove T-case

With properly functioning ECU and sensors like the engine coolant temp. sender, the throttle position sensor, the air flow meter and the O2 sensor to name the big ones, then it is all automatic. For how it all works, see the Technical Articles at:
