So I just scored a NP242 the other day almost for free in a good condition, it came out of an '89 XJ and the tag say's it's production date is '88 and it's a 242 AMC or AMG not quite sure since the tag is a little banged up. I was hoping on mating it to my WJ wich has a 247 with a VC doing it's final miles. My question is on the speedo and driveshaft, can I pull the speedo from the NV247 and pop it in the 242 and is the outputshaft on the NV247 a 27 spline like the one on the 242 and do I have to make modifications to the driveshaft as for length.
Sorry if some of those questions sound stupid but I know almost nothing about Jeep drivetrain but I'm gathering info as fast as I can to put in that roomy vessel resting on my neck. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
