Along with an Engine swapout I will also need to replace my tired and worn Leaf Springs/shocks. a few years after purchasing the jeep new I had indstalled a 2,1/2" Rough Country lift kit and a 2" body lift and am now wanting to go with a 4-4,1/2" lift and probably drop the body lift down to 1". I have been looking and reading up an the avaliable springs out there and I am still undecided on what I am going to go with. I have in the past installed the reverse shackle kit up from to help reduce the choppy ride and since this will be a daily driver would like to go with a brand of springs that would provide the best ride possible. As of now I am kind of leaning towards either "Old Man Emu" or "Rubicon". Any one out there have some advice on this. Eric

Between my self and my friends in the area we've installed OME leaf springs, coils and shocks in 7 off road vehicles. Not a single complaint or failure in the past 5 years.
I backed into a rock at Reiter Pit with the 4Runner and bent a OME shock a few years back. ARB replaced it for free even though it was obviously my doing and far from a factory defect. I've heard Rubicon makes fine products but I'm sold on OME's ride quality and ARB's customer service.
Unfortunatly they don't make springs with a lift greater than 3". If you want to go higher extended shackles or spacers would need to be added.

Thanks for the feedback Seattlegti, I have heard nothing but good things about the OME Suspension components myself and know a few guys that have them on their rigs. I have not heard any 1st hand testimonials on the Rubicon product and so will probably go with the OME 2,1/2" springs but will need to choose between the light load and heavy load. I will not be doing any towing and would prefer more spring travel than less so thinking that light load springs would be better for both ride and "Wheeling"

The spring ratings that OME is talking about is the weight of the vehicle...not if it will be towing. If you plan on getting a winch, heavy front and rear bumpers, an upgraded rollcage, or plan on hauling a bunch of stuff in the back of the vehicle, you will want to go with a heavier load spring setup. If you go with a light setup and load up the vehicle, you will lose more lift than with a heavier setup.
Jeeps in general are not meant to tow more than 1500 lbs. or so.

Ok that makes sense so heavy will probably be best in my application. Have been looking for these springs online and would like to purchase just the springs alone (no brackets or u-bolts, etc needed)but not having much luck for the CJ. I am thinking that I can go with YJ springs and unless I am mistaken the only difference is the wider width springs up front.
