Went on a run out to Sadie Creek today, lots of hard wheeling, hardest I've done since owning my truck. Had to pull out the winch 5 times, and the truck has several new beauty marks, thanks to the slick mud. Anyways, on the way home on the freeway, whenever I'd be going up a hill the truck would start bucking and slowing down. I'd let off the clutch and re-engage, or downshift and after a few seconds would start bucking again, but was fine on the flats and downhill. Engine seems to be running fine, and truck ran fine in town at lower speeds, no bucking while going up hill. Any thoughts on this problem? Ran fine all day out in the woods, lots of tire spinning trying to claw up the muddy hills, could I have glazed the flywheel, or gotten mud into it?

Thanks, I'll post some pics of the run up later.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Sounds like a fun day, but it also sounds like your clutch might be on it's last legs. Mine started doing the same thing not too long ago, got on it too hard and it'd let go. Backed off a bit and it re-engaged and ran good. I'm assuming that your clutch wasn't just replaced or fiddled with in anyway recently. Most recently I ran my clutch till it was to the rivets, guys at the clutch shop got a kick out of it!!! Hey they can't say I didn't get my moneys worth out of it!!!

Actually I replaced mine when I rebuilt my engine, about 8000 miles ago. Went out and did a few quick checks before going to bed, and saw that my fuel pressure gauge was only showing about 2psi. Tried to adjust it, but nothing, so I apparantly have some sort of fuel delivery issue causing the truck to bog and buck when under load. Probably all the bouncing around today stirred up all kinds of fuel tank crud, or the fuel pump is gone. Just glad it got me home!
