I've changed my 4.56 gears to 4.11's in my Trooper II Turbo Diesel and now I need to get the speedometer squared away. I've heard of a mechanical in-line calibrator (made by Borg Warner?), but I can't find anyone who sells one or even list's one. Does anyone know where to find one or another product similar??? Any other ways to fix the problem??? Many thanks.
Thanks, Dana 2 - 1986 Trooper II C223T's 1 - 1981 Isuzu I-Mark (2 door coupe) 1.8 diesel

YOU DONT NEED ANY SPECIAL GEAR ADAPTERS ,JUST ORDER THE ISUZU GEAR PART NO FOR THE 87 TROOPER WHICH CAME WITH 4.11 GEARS , THE PT NO YOU NEED IS 894141-5480, ALL 87 TURBO TROOPERS CAME WITH 4.11 THE ONLY YEAR THE U.S EVER GOT THEM JERRY

Hey Jerry, I put the gear (17 tooth) in the Trooper, but the speedometer got worse. With the original gear (16 tooth), 60 mph is was really 66 mph according to the gps. Now, with the new gear (17 tooth), 60 is really 71 mph (gps). Should I go with a 15 or 14 tooth gear? What do you recommend and what would that part # be?
Also, my trooper is smoking more at idle and as well as normal driving than it should. At times, it's like a mosquito sprayer... I had the injectors rebuilt and adjusted the valves. What else could it be and how do I fix it???
Many thanks, Dana

Many thanks, Dana OK I THINK WHAT YOU HAVE IS THE PART YEAR CHANGE LATE 86 WHEN THEY CHANGED THE DRIVEN GEAR TO A 17 TOOTH AND ON SOME OF THEM THE DRIVE GEAR WAS A 5 TOOTH AND THE LATER ONES HAD THE 6 TOOTH DRIVE GEAR , AND YOU APPARENTLY HAVE THE 5 TOOTH DRIVE GEAR , AND NEED THE 6 TOOTH , TO MATCH THE 17 TOOTH , THERE ARE NO GEARS WITH A 15 TOOTH COUNT , AND TO CHANGE THE DRIVE GEAR YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE REAR HOUSING FROM THE TRANS TO GET TO IT , I MAY HAVE THE 6 TOOTH DRIVE GEAR , YOU ARE WELCOME TO IT , BUT IT IS A GOOD BIT OF WORK TO GET TO TO CHANGE JERRY
