Getting the Wheeling Fever

headlights turn on and the dash instrument lights come on but doesnt crank over and the door locks, windows dont work any idea the extent of damage done? ecu fryed? where do i start

I would start by checking all the fuses.

main fusible link blew ,i changed it the car starts now but the battery light comes on and the voltmeter i tested it with reads 12.1 ? would the alternator have went , maybe the regulator?

also lights do not dim when i put them on along with hi beams the battery meter on the dash doesnt dip, maybe the battery drained from being on backwards?

I blew out the main fusable link during a jumpstart once... thought I might have fried the ECU as well, but turned out to be the ignition control module (circuit board that sits under the coil packs)... you may want to check this out. here's my thread: 3.2L replaced main fusable link but still won't start? -Rob

no mine starts but the battery light is on and the battery read 12.1v with the engine off and with the engine on , im wondering if the alternator is bad or if there is a fuse or diode that may have blew on the alternator
