Hey guy's ,how's she going eh? Thought I'd come over to the Jeep forum & ask some questions about buying this Jeep I'm kinda getting the bug for . It,s a black 1987 YJ Laredo 5spd. hard top w/soft & doors, all original paint & 2 tone decals, chome package, original alium. hole sloted rims ,all terr BF Goodrich tires. Not knowing anything about Jeep's, it's got a couple of issues i'd like to question you guy's on 1. The serial # says this jeep came w/ a 4.2L carb, but this one has a 4.0L fuel injection in it w/ the block # having a M in it I think this mean's it's from 87&88 years so this must mean it's out of a Cherokee or Comanchee?is this right?(that explains for the wiring hyway being exposed . 2. The fuel pump is a external one but I think it's in the wrong place? It's on the inner fender well ,close to the intake & the filter just before it. The fuel line looks like it's not a high pressure line either ? 3 The clutch feels funny when engaging, it engages close to the floor ,very touchy, does this mean the hydrolic ralease bearing needs replacing? Noticed oil between the motor & trans leaking 4 The ignition on this thing is got some issues to , when you turn the key to the on position you have to flick a toggle switch to engage the starter to start .Ignition switch on lower column not working properly ? The motor sounds real good ,but 1 leaking injector ,Not to sure what else I should be looking for he want's $1500.00 for it &I just found out he paid 1000.00 for 2 of them which the other one was a 89 Sahara , Is it worth it ? thanks ,your info would be greatful.

1,500 is cheap for a Wrangler. It sounds like he took 2 Wranglers and built 1 that works so you'll probobly be tinkering with the thing till the end of days. My assumption would be he got sick of working on it and want's to pass the "project" on to somone else.
If your looking for something to drive I'd keep looking. If your looking for a project that you don't mind tearing apart and putting back together the price seems decent.

One hundred percent in agreement.. I'd be looking for a complete wrangler.. Big Jim

Well, the 87 jeep is complete & the other 89 jeep he sold for $1100.00. I think the guy selling this jeep is trying to make a few extra bucks. I'm always up for a challenge It is 21 years old but at least it's not all rusted out .I'm going to take some pics of it today & try to post them here .He did put a new starter, alternator, exhaust,K&N intake system,&tires.I'll try & work on him to get the price down . $800.00 to $1000.00Canadian funds mind you. Sounds about right to me After all ...this guy's my boss
