Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have been contemplating my build for a year now on my 02.

I have wheeled mine quite a bit in stock form. Only got stuck twice. Once a more agresive set of tires probably would have helped. The second time I high-centered on the transfer case skid plate.

I have pestered Matt at Indy4x with many questions and have finally decided to swap in a set of OME coils in the rear and crank the bars in the front to clear 285's.

I too am concerned about the lack of gearing option and must say I have had less than stellar performance of my TOD system. It tends to let the rear spin before the front starts pulling. There is a way to add a switch to override the TOD leaving you with a normal 4HI. I am planning this as my next project.

One last thing, the front axle soliniods have a tendency to stick causing the front axle to not engage. Mine just did this to me and everyone that I have talked to says if you use it once a month it will keep working fine. I went 3 months without using it and it screwed up.

Good Luck!

Mudrunner
The 3.5L makes 215 HP and enough torque to move 33's with the stock 4.30 gears. In 4LO there are no issues with gearing, IMO. If you want lower gearing get a '99 with a 5 speed and get the Tera 3.07 x-fer case. There's a '95 for sale now on PlanetIsuzu that is already built very well w/ lots of goodies - 4.56 gears, 5 speed, front locker, Tera 3.07 x-fer case, ARB bumper and Warn M8000 winch - for $5,000! Dude's name is Wareagle. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
