Getting the Wheeling Fever
|
The vent hose for the gas tank on my '89 4x4 is pretty well dry rotted and looks like it was the original factory peice. It may have originally been a reddish color with a braiding wrapped around it. So far I've come up empty just trying to source a simple peice of fuel-safe rubber hose from the local auto parts stores to use as a replacement, but I was wondering if some of that clear vinyl/pvc tubing they sell by the foot at Home Depot/Lowes would suffice... I image it would yellow and harden over time from the alcohol in the gas but being a vent tube it shouldn't really see that much fuel coming in contact with it.
Anyone have any suggestions on what else can be used aside from getting the original from the dealer?
TIA - Chuck

I went to a P-N-P and found a piece that was long enough off of a Celica if I remember right. They gave it to me.
