I agree, the dash speakers are a waste of time... If you want to really improve the sound quaily in your rig. I'd use the 5/4" in the doors, and then mount some tweeters up front to help out.

Body Damage is Cool

When I was looking for speakers for the Silver Raider where ever I went said 3" for the dash. Found out when I bought my Red truck the guy had sure enough put new 3" speakers in the front, and 6x9's in new boxes in the back. One of them fell out wheeling at Uwharrie in April 07 going over a massive fallen tree (the muffler was also damaged). Its always fun having a 3" speaker fall on your foot as your front tires hit the ground. Just to see what kind of volume I am getting out of the front and I have faded the Clarion unit to the front only. And I have noticed with even 3 speakers vs 4 you do get a better all around sound having those front speakers. With just the 6x9's in the back you can tell all the sound is coming from behind your head. So the 3" speakers may not do much, but they still make a difference.

Put some 5 1/4's in the doors and I promise you'll forget about the dinky 3's....

Fasteddy's advice is occasionally sound...

kicker 4" are shallow enough to not affect the ducting.

dunno about door speakers, 4 cyl trucks in canada don't have 'em.

I'm thinking about doing a 6.5"/4"/tweet setup in the front kicks and pillars and 5.25" for rear fill in the panty raider. the galant has GOOD sound quality but the raider sounds kinda

Jerzboy, if you remove the door panels on the front then you should see them.
Or I'm wrong and they don't have them in Canada
