I thought if I wrote this up it might help somebody out. It sure did make my life a little brighter!

After not being happy with the stock halogen bulb(it was to dim) in my Montero's dome light, I decided to look into the possibility of putting in some type of LED setup into my rig. I did a bit of research about LEDs and how they work. I discovered that not only are LEDs brighter and more durable than halogen bulbs, but they also use less amperage(a good thing)

Installation is simple and straight forward. Disconnect the car battery. Then remove the dome light's clear plastic cover, and unplug the old halogen bulb. Now plug in the LED bulb adaptor with the LEDs into the dome light. The LED "wedge" will hang down, but just put the cover back on. The LED wedge will rest on the dome lights clear plastic cover. Connect the car battery and your ready to go!

Hope the pics help.

Been wanting to do that for a while myself. I'm looking at putting some LEDs all around tho, in the foot-wells where there isnt any light (drivers, pass, and rear foot-wells as well) Thinking something for the cargo area cause there def isnt enough light back there at night when looking for tools and what not.

While on the subject, anyone use LEDs for Rock Lights? I've got the old school version of those rubberized tractor lights that work awesome, but wanted to hear about the LEDs as well. They can fit anywhere which makes them a plus

I've seen them on rigs before, but not while in use. Heard they work really well. Where would you mount them?

Anywhere and everywhere, like a christmas tree!

J/k, probably atleast in areas needed. If I had them, 1 up front, around each tire, center (both sides) and rear. That should be plenty.

Right now I have them mounted back to back in the center frame-rail pointing at each tire. Gets the job done

If I am not mistaken Joe (Darlington) runs regular lamps in the front, and has a strip of light blue (almost white) LEDs running across the back bumper of the Storm Trooper II. I remember riding it Mike's Rodeo on their mega speed run of Rocky Mnt at night in April and Joe was ahead of us, sure looked like LEDs to me (99 percent positive).
