Need a Spot
I m just getting started with my first toyota project. I towed from a guys yard where it had been sitting for 12 years. It was coverd with leaves in sutton alaska and didnt run but cranked over.I put a fuel pump on it the 81 came to life but still needs lots of attention.

The truck doesnt have much rust for its age and still has a bed with just sufface rust.I did find some holes in the cab at driver and passenger foot area not suprise since I m from michigan.

I m now a ex chevy guy looking for some tips on anywhere to find repair floor board panels.Theres lots online for the american trucks but yet to find any for these older toyota's.Also how do I post pics on this site not having any luck with it? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

don't know where to get floor panels, but if the cancer is not too bad a person could weld in some repair areas with used sheetmetal. Could get some sheetmetal from a junk yard and maybe even some toyota floor panels from a donor junk rig.

to post a pic, first you have to upload your pics to a host site like photobucket.com then you clik on the "Image" button at the bottom right of the post/reply window and then insert the URL for your image in the box that pops up. I suppose there are some instructions somewhere, and someone will mention them..

To post the picture without using the "image" button, just type

Agree with Toyomorph... even after 20 years, ther really isn't a lot of aftermarket support for the old Toy trucks, at least nothing like American models.

Your best bet is to find a junkyard w/ a truck that is down to just the cab hulk, and cut the whole floor out of it to use as a donor. However bing up in AK, i'm assuming the pickings are pretty slim.

I think you're going to be limited to getting some new sheetmetal, and just cutting out all the old stuff and fabbing up something new. The D and P sides are mostly symetrical, so if you're lucky, you can cut them both out out, and use them as forms to kind of figure out the currect shape etc; hopefully where one is missing, the other will be remaining, and you can use as a guide to fill in that part etc.

Body Damage is Cool
see .. this is exactly the reason .

I was going to produce these floor pieces for "replacement" .. but .. because of such methods . I have found few willing customers to pay ..
MAKE AND BAKE , thats all thats out there .

so far can justify pricing .

Yep, find a donor cab or a sheet metal place.

www.car-part.com

Seems to me there's a guy in Wasilla down there that might have a few older trucks in his yard.

These guys are down in Soldotna

Ya gotta web-host your pix as mentioned. ALSO- look in the FAQ above for sizing format.
