Need a Spot
I tore out my interior carpet seats and all to rhino line the floor of my jeep wrangler. In ding this i took everything that was bolted to the floor or sides of as well. Yesterday when i went to put everything back i noticed my seat belts had tightened up! I cant get them to release so i have the length to re bolt them in there spot. I have been looking around for a release button or something and cant seem to get it. any help is appreciated and thanks.

The latch is inertia activated.. It only works when it THINKS you are stopping.. So you must talk to it a bit and make it believe you are NOT STOPPING! The front end might be lower than the back end or whatever..but you must convince the latch that the Jeep is NOT stopping.

I agree with BJ.
I would drive on a deserted road at about 35mph and begain the install. You'll even have more foot traction now that you have the liner. Leave the seats out so getting to every bolt hole easier. And for gods sake man, look up every now and then to be safe!!

Jim is right here most likely. That little device can be very aggravating. It makes the shoulder belts hold position so you dont bounce off the windshield in a stop. It usually has a swinging cam deal inside or a device similar to a pull start lawn mower and unless it is put back in exactly the same position it wont work right. The mechanisms may have fragged too and locked up. Shoot a little WD-40 in it, it may just be rusted up especially if your ride sits out in the rain alot. Dont hesitate to replace it, its your life yer talkin about!
