Okay - I rebuilt the Aisin carb on my girlfriends 22r - it was dumping gas, and got about 15 mpg. Marked and took off 18 vac hoses, and uplon disassembly, I found that the entire large side of the carb (large cylinder with a flap? venturi?) was seized - where my spare carb opens upon full throttle. Go it all rebuilt, but am running into some issues.

1st, the cold idle (high) doesnt work - when the gas pedal is depressed it doesnt set it - how do i fix this?

2nd, in low rpms in all gears, very little throttle, the truck does a jerk, in 1st its super noticible, but in 4th and 5th its like a little tug. What could cause this?

Sounds like the choke may not be working correctly. Follow the instructions in the FAQ to check that.

Also make sure the fast idle screw is turned in the correct amount so that it opens the throttle a little when the choke is engaged. If you look at the linkages it should be pretty obvious how this works.
