Any Insights on 2000 Rodeo S? #892715 06/25/08 09:50 PM

2000 Rodeo S, 2.2L four cylinder, 5 spd. Questions:

Is that engine enough to move that truck? What is vehicle weight? Should be more economical than V6?

Would that be an MUA5 transmission? Will Terra 307 Lows fit?

What axle ratio does this vehicle have? I read 4.77 on a less than reliable source; is that correct?

Anything to watch out for?

Buy a Trooper. You'll be glad you did.

Now that I've actually seen the truck, it has a 3.5 V6, not the 4 cyl. It also has a Dana rear end, so it won't have 4.77 gears. Probably 4.30? Pretty clean. Looks like it's never been off road. It has a lever for the transfer case, so it's probably an MUA5?

I don't see why Tera's wouldn't. Is it a 5speed? I always thought the 5spd was the MUA5, which if that is the case, then the t-case is integrated to the trans, but you can still have Tera's in it (I do mine) If it's an auto then it is the 4L30E...and I am pretty sure the t-case will still except the teralows (sorry you will need to double check that) I just don't know of any changes in the t-case in the later years other then the TOD on the Troopers

It pre 2002, which is when they did the "big nut" drive flange for which no manual hub will fit. So, at least you can put Superwinches on it (Warn doesn't have one that fits newer then 95 on the Rodeos)

Manual, I believe also puts it with the 4.30 gears as well.
