For anyone wondering, yes, the 261C "crawler" cam will smog in Cali. My truck is running great, a shade lean at idle (given the high HC), but it still passed first try. ![[Linked Image]](http://lh3.ggpht.com/parrish.ellison/SGRFUzcj5II/AAAAAAAAAOs/34M_0MWsR7w/s800/Image003.jpg)

Congratulations! You squeaked through, though. "142ppm", with 143ppm max, is close! (I believe "143ppm max" means "measured 143ppm fails", in CA)

Any idea why the HC is high at 15mph? I just did the street RV head and 261c cam myself but haven't been smogged yet.

FWIW, it helps if you do an oil change with the HC before you go in, esp if you are carberated.

The HC is high because the idle mix is set too lean. Rich would be high HC and high CO. I still don't fully understand the method for setting the mix without an EGA, but I've got it running pretty well I think. Good enough to pass anyway.
