Hi guys, I guess I should introduce myself. I have a 1998 Delica at the moment, Im a Hangglider pilot and need a 4x4 to get to some sites as well as a car i can sleep in, the Kia looks to be JUST long enough to manage that or tho not as nicely as the Delica. I love the price and running cost potential of a sportage over the delica and have decided to swap. (already ordering all the parts for the lift) Ok i have spent the last few days researching the net, and cardomain:) I have been reading thru all these pages.. Love it! At first i was exited about the fact i could $pend stuff all(compared to the mitsubishi delica) and stick some 33s on one of these little beasts. I see daves with his 38s(i know he has other diffs etc on his) and others with 35s and a few with 33s, but some of the threads on here say 32s are the largest that will fit. whats the story here? are some people just running tyres that are rubbing on there cars? or have they all made the needed mods to fit them? I wanted to get one of Daves 4" delux kits, was very sad to hear he is not doing them for the moment. hope to get some info on what the setup is so i can make it up myself here. And then whatever body lift/mods were required to run 33s My question is what is needed to run 33s? If its going to be tooooo hard i might just stick with the Delica and run 33s on that. Cheers Glen

The story is that the tires will foul on the chassis side of the bodymount under the firewall, regardless of the amount of lift, when turning. 32" real measurement is all that will fit, so some manufacturers '33" tires' could be OK (Check manufacturers specs).

With Dave's 4" lift and the larger body lift here ( http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/KiaSportageBodyLift.shtml) some trimming of the front bumper, and pounding in the seam in the back of the front fender I think 33s are posible. Dennis

yep, 4" suspension and 3" body will fit a 33-35" tire. 33's will be ok, 35's will rub. with just the 4" suspension and 1.5" body lift, 32 is max and still rubs. 31's work great on anything between 3 and 6" of lift.
