All -

I am adding a small compressor and airhorns to my Rodeo and wondered if I could use the battery ground wire as my grounding point (it just happens to be convenient and easily accessible).

Yes. The best "return path" to the battery is a direct connection to the negative or "ground" lug/post of the battery.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if grounding to the body or engine directly was a better idea.
