The truck is now SOLD. Please see a few posts down for available parts.

This may be the wrong forum but I know not all the Isuzu guys interested in rigs cruise the general FS forum...

FS: my beloved 1991 Trooper LWB (4D) 2.6L 5spd

Truck is located in Mansfield, Texas, south/central to the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area.

Originally an S model that I painstakingly converted (swapping body harnesses) to some LS options with PW, PL, and a few misc trim pieces. Retains the original gray tweed & vinyl interior.

The interior is good for the age but the vinyl needs to be redone. Dash has a small but poorly repaired crack. Carpet is getting rough (steam cleaning may revive the front two sections). Interior door panels and headliner are in great shape.

Body color is dark blue, paint is great, and the body is straight (with appropriate-for-age door dings) BUT the paint is fading on the hood and roof badly. No frame rot (TX/OK vehicle all it's life).

Runs great. 278k miles on chassis and original motor (has had 2 valve jobs in it's lifetime). Due for a new timing belt soon, I do have all the new OE parts for the job. Motor blows great compression numbers and burns NO oil. Does have a minor leak at the front main and from what looks like the oil filter mount. Nothing more than a few drops a day, though. Rear main changed at the last clutch job at 200k.

The 5-spd died soon after I bought the truck. The current unit came from Randy from the board, off his 1990 (I think) Amigo which had ~100k miles on it when it came out. It went into my truck at 200k. Has been great ever since. Shifts fine. Has an OE clutch on the truck that went in new then, with all the higway miles the clutch should be fine for a while. Master and slave cylinders were replaced a couple of years ago as well.

Some of the add-ons:
PW/PL (all working) & factory wiring transferred from 1990 LS model
15x7 American Eagle wheels (similar in look to the Amigo ones)
Kumho MT tires (two new, 3 near end of life)
Garvin Wilderness Rack (nice)
Sony CD & 10 disc MP3 changer w/Pioneer speakers
Draw-tite receiver hitch
95 Amigo intake manifold, TB, and intake (better than 91 Trooper)
Delta 260-degree (turbo) cam
Calmini header
Custom 2.25 mandrel-bent exhaust with Dynomax Turbo muffler
Custom high-flow cat installed, test pipe to be sold with truck
MANY spare parts I'll give the buyer & factory shop manual

The truck was converted to R134 about 2 years ago with a new (not refurb) OE compressor, new expansion valve, new drier, and new condenser, and thoroughly cleaning everything else. AC worked great until a few weeks ago when the AC quit cooling even though it holds the charge and the clutch was engaging. I haven't troubleshot it further.

As mentioned the body is straight, there is no frame rot, and there is really nothing wrong with the truck save for the AC. Up north it would be a fantastic daily driver for someone. The performance mods helped a lot to make it a fun truck.

The truck passes TX emissions and should pass emissions anywhere in the 50 states save for maybe California due to CARB inspection requirements.

I've had the truck for 10 years now, since it had 145k miles on the odometer. It's been lovingly cared for and expertly maintained. This was a daily driver for me until recently and has proved to be a faithful companion. I'd like to find a similar home if at all possible.

Pictures to follow. Asking $1k OBO. I stress the OBO part as it will really break my heart to have to junk it. I will begin parting it out shortly to anyone that's interested and then probably haul the rest off for scrap soon.

Feel free to PM or email me at todd at marcuccimotorsports. com

The truck is now sold. Traded it in for near what I was asking.

I have a bunch of parts left over-

- Everything needed for a timing belt and front main and cam seal change (all OEM parts), including tensioner, and aftermarket water pump. $60
- 2.6L 4ZE1 ECU (should work on all 88-91s?) $20
- Factory shop manual. Looks nasty and is falling apart but all the pages are there & legible. $20
- New front UCA bushings (OEM) and homemade installation tool (works). Can throw in an extra UCA w/bad ones for practice. $20
- New front LCA (lower) ball joints by Moog. Appear to be made by Isuzu when you open up the package inside (made in Japan and have an Isuzu p/n). $70 (I think I paid more than that for them apiece)
- A few misc interior parts like visors, coin cup, dash lights... will try and inventory. I would give these away if someone is willing to pay shipping.

Will ship for cost on all items.

I'm sure there is more I am forgetting, I will add more as I remember.

More parts:

- 2000 Isuzu "AC2" manual. Basically an HVAC repair/maintenance manual for 2000 Isuzus, though it covers a lot of theory/basics and not-so-basics for anyone interested in HVAC work. $10

- 92-94 Trooper (UX) Parts Guide. This is the real deal- 3" binder of the factory parts listing. $10

- 86-88 Trooper Parts Guide. Wimpy ebay find, non-factory, but does have a listing of the OE part numbers for common collision and maintenance parts. $5

- OE 88-91 2.6L Trooper Injectors with ~220k miles on them. All working but should probably be cleaned and checked. $20

- OE 2.3L Pup (not sure of year) Injectors, 3 good, one bad. 150k miles on them. Bad one can probably be saved by an injector service place. $10

- 88-91 Trooper banjo bolts for brake lines, set of 4 with washers. New, OE, in the bag. $5

- Used/damaged input shaft for MUA5 2.6L 5-spd transmission. Works GREAT as a clutch alignment tool. Also makes a cool paperweight. $5

- New Isuzu (OE) 2.6L (maybe others?) distributor cap and rotor (I have 3 sets). $10 ea or $20 for all 3.

- New Isuzu (OE) clutch release bearing and also flywheel pilot bearing for 2.6L/MUA5 (maybe others). $10 for both.

- 86 Trooper Radiator emblem (Isuzu logo) New, OE. I used these to cover up my manual window holes when I converted my truck to PW & PL. These are price from the dealer. $5

- 88-91 2.6L Trooper (maybe others) new OE thermostat. $5

- 88-91 Trooper dark blue new OE touch-up paint. I had to buy I think 4 or 5 bottles when I bought it... so I have 4 or 5 bottles. Will sell one for $1 or all for $3.

- 88-91 Trooper HVAC switch (big one with the cables), used, in good and apparently working condition. Will include outer trim panel. $5

- 88-91 2.6L Trooper MAF. Used, ~ 200k miles on it. Should be working fine (was when removed). $20

- Summit Racing electric fan with mount and shroud. Used this for a short while to replace the mechanical fan. Used but in great shape. Will include a thermostat housing for the 2.6L drilled for an electric switch intended for an aftermarket fan. No switch or wiring included. $50

Get any of these items for free if you buy something else (all for 88-91 Trooper:

- Driver's window switch. Junkyard find, looks good, don't have a way to test it. I don't think I have the bezel for it, though.

- Passenger's window switch. Same status as above, but with bezel.

- Rear wiper/washer switch. I have two of these. Unknown electrical condition but look good.

- Rear washer fluid door (used) in pretty good condition.

- Injector resistor with body-side harness plug (2.6L)

- Front floor mats (original Isuzu!) in gray. Could be cleaned but at least would make a good pattern to make new ones from.

- New OE Isuzu IM gaskets (2.6L)

- Headlight bulbs. I'll have to check but I think I have 2 or 3 of these in working (but used) condition.
