I'm ready to replace the front wheel bearings. My question is about the brake pads housing. They are plumbed with a hard line, going to a bracket. Then changing to a flex hose. I dont think I can just remove the bolts holding the bracket and hang with a bungie, because of the hard line. The brakeline bracket is bolted through the steering knuckle. I'm afraid to unbolt this bracket. I may just disconnect the brakeline from the caliper. I hate dealing with the brake fluid while doing the other work. Any advice would be appreciated. J.B.

Trying to remove the large bolts holding the steering arm to the kunckle (that the brake line bracket is under) is REALLY difficult since the factory used red locktite and they are large bolts.
What Ive always done on my vehicles and others I've worked on is unclip the hard line from the bracket and moved it to the side as far as I can, and then cut a slot in the bracket with a grinder so that the hard line can be slipped out (try not to nick the line with the grinder :p ).

:p ). Red Loctite releases via applying heat - if you gently warm up the bolts with a propane torch it will let go.

Your not kidding. I got one of those bolts loose. The other was a no-go. Thanks for the advise. I'll try tomorrow.

Finished up the bearings today. My roar seems to be gone. I only put about 5 miles on it. Had to go to the beach, for our anniversary dinner(20 yrs.) Anyway, all seems well. My impacts wont fit in there by the way. I just unscrewed the brake line at the caliper. Put a wire nut on it. Not too messy. Thanks for the advice.
